American Golden Plover
Absolutely not twitching - we were going to Lunt anyway. Honest!
The American Golden Plover found by Phil Boardman the previous day was showing well on the Pump Pool mud - despite persistent harrassment from Canada Geese and Lapwings it wasn’t for leaving and entertained with a few short flights and much scurrying.
There were dozens of snipe and even more lapwings around the reserve, and I didn’t look at much else because I’m a terrible birdwatcher.
