I’ve not been keeping my blog up to date, but here’s an update on some recent sightings.

Today I finally caught up with the Long-billed Dowitcher that has been frequenting Marshside and Banks. This was after a surprise fly-over by six Hawfinches at the Hesketh Road platform, making it a two-tick morning for me.

Another one of those was had earlier in the spring, where news of a Wood Warbler on Hesketh Golf course came through whilst I was finally spending some time with the showy Grasshopper Warbler at Wheatear Corner.

A couple of trips to Wales in earlier Summer took in the Little Tern colony at Gronant followed by the nesting seabirds at the Great Orme, and better still, Little Orme.
