Three consecutive days at Marshside, with one afternoon at Martin Mere, produced mostly a yearning for a change in the weather.

The best highlights were probably during today’s afternoon shift at Sandgrounder’s Hide. First a young male Peregrine picked a fight with one of the Greater Black-Backed Gulls and the two spent some time to harry one another. As the light faded and the cold rain started driving even harder, two Great White Egrets dropped in to take a break from their difficult evening commute. It’s the first time I’ve seen the two of them together.
