A lot of people try to have a big day early in the year to get 70 or 80 of the easy ticks. I’m having a little look in the garden.

I’ll keep this post updated for the whole of January, rather than starting a new one each day I see a bird.

  • 2016-01-11 A Blackcap on the suet feeder gave me a shock, as I initially had an impression of a much more powerful bird.
  • 2016-01-15 A Sparrowhawk came crashing through in a flurry of pigeon feathers.
  • 2016-02-16 I’m sure there have been wrens the whole time, but today I saw one.
