Sometimes Garganey hide in the grassy parts of the marsh, and sometimes they tear around chasing Godwits. Today was a bit of both for the drake in front of Nel’s hide.

Easily surpassing the Garganey in the jackass stakes were the Coots, however, which were chasing the poor godwits up and down Rimmer’s Marsh as industriously as possible.

A dozen or so Dunlin were the prettiest birds of the day, there were no surprises except the absence of corvids. Yep.
