Ainsdale Dunes
A quick walk on Ainsdale dunes on a windy evening.
I tried to take a closer look at Whitethroats, in the hope of spotting a Lesser Whitethroat should one crop up.
The tide was too far out to see what the small waters at the water’s edge were.
Once again a Kestrel was hunting the same area near Slack 47.
Grey head = male
Lesser Whitethroat wouldn’t have the orangey wings; smaller, skulkier and more normally proportonaed for a warbler.
Songs and calls are completely different.
