Lunt meadows
A sunny but cold day at Lunt Meadows. A pair of Stonechats were boldly occupying some fence posts, and two short eared owls were hunting over the meadows (distant views only today).
Not many other birds to be seen on the water as it was frozen. A few Snipe were flushed by other birders - I felt they might be Jack Snipe by the size of their bills, but couldn’t be sure.
As we were leaving, a Barn Owl was hunting in one of the fields between the reserve and the road.
