Today’s attempt to record the Dusky Warbler was a dip, and I somehow managed to miss the Whinchats that were on site too (I thought I saw some Stonechats but failed to investigate!), however I saw (and heard) my first Sedge Warbler of the year.

There were plenty of other warblers around the same area too, including Grasshopper, Willow and Common and Lesser Whitethroat, plus Linnets, Goldfinches and Wrens adding to the racket. However this clip is mostly Sedge Warbler:

There’s tremendous fun to be had with plotting spectrograms of this particular artist at various scales. The complexity of this song is off the scale!
